Sarasota, Fla. – (January 27, 2017) – Cat Depot is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a grant for $5,000 from the PetCo Foundation. Grant funds will provide necessary medical care and assist with costs of sheltering 34 kittens.
In 2016, Cat Depot took in 1,532 felines, of which 1,107 were kittens. Currently no other organization located within Sarasota or Manatee Counties, handles more cats on a yearly basis.
Cat Depot is a safe haven for the community’s tiniest feline residents. Now in its third year, Cat Depot’s “No Kill Kitten” season is the organization’s promise to the community that no kitten will be euthanized due to lack of shelter space in Sarasota County.
Costs associated with the intake, medical care, and sheltering of one healthy kitten until adoption can total $148. Donations are appreciated and will allow Cat Depot to increase the number of kittens assisted each year. Contributions can be made online www.catdepot.org.
Thank you to PetCo Foundation for their compassion. Due to their support 34 kittens will have a better life and loving homes.
