(SARASOTA, Fla., January 25, 2017) Manasota SCORE was selected by Southwest Florida District Director Ralph Warmack to receive the District Chapter of the Year Award for the third consecutive year. The award is given to honor the chapter’s leadership, dedication and service to the small business community.
Warmack presented the award plaque, along with a letter of congratulations from W. Kenneth Yancey Jr., CEO of The SCORE Association, to Chapter Chair Dennis Zink at the January member meeting.
Zink has been Chapter Chair for the past three years, leading the chapter as it expanded its volunteer base and mentoring services, updated and broadened its educational programs, and developed new and innovative outreach initiatives. Membership has more than doubled over the last two years and chapter services for FY2016 were up 51% over the prior year. In addition to mentoring and workshops for startups and in-business clients, Manasota SCORE hosts CEO roundtables and Success Strategies for Business Owners MeetUps.
“Our goal has been to expand our chapter’s impact, reach and relevance,” Zink said. “I am proud of our leadership team and working committees for helping to grow our membership and increase our mentoring and business education services. We’re hoping to assist even more in-business and startup clients in the coming year.”
