SARASOTA, Fla. — Jeff Charlotte, president and CEO of J.E. Charlotte Construction Corp. (JECharlotte.com), a Venice-based commercial construction company, was installed as the president of the Argus Foundation on Jan. 12.
He brings over 20 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, community leadership and his dedication to community philanthropy and outreach to his new role for the Argus Foundation, a nonprofit business think-tank organization dedicated to joining business leaders from diverse industries and leveraging their talents and experience to benefit the community.
During his one-year term as president, he aims to focus on fostering important community conversations, collaborating with community partners and being part of solutions to improve the local community with issues like economic development, growth, affordable housing, infrastructure and more. The Argus Foundation’s events will also continue to educate the community on local, statewide and national issues.
“Jeff is well respected by his peers in the community as well as the building construction industry,” said Christine Robinson, executive director of the Argus Foundation. “His strong leadership skills, work ethic and community knowledge will help make him a great president for the Argus Foundation. We truly appreciate all of our officers time to serve this organization and the business community.”
During the event, the Argus Foundation also welcomed two other incoming 2017 officers. Jack Cox, president of Halfacare Construction Company, was installed as the nonprofit’s first vice president, and Keith Mercier, president of CBIZ Insurance Services, was named the second vice president.
“So many influential and great people have come before me, including Rod Hershberger,” said Charlotte of the Argus Foundation’s past president. “I’m humbled and excited about this opportunity to lead this great organization, but these are certainly big shoes to fill.”
A Venice High School graduate, Charlotte founded his company in 1996. He has extensive experience in commercial office and manufacturing, retail, financial, medical, multi-family residential and recreation construction projects throughout southwest Florida.
