SARASOTA, FL: Music Compound is ringing in the new year and celebrating one year of business. On January 4th, 2016, the Music Compound opened its doors to aspiring musicians of all ages in the Sarasota area. Originally located in an 1,800-square foot space, teachers and students continued to join and now the school now occupies a 6,500-square foot space. This new space, which has been in use since the summer, has its very own concert/event venue known as Studio 32.
“I’m so pleased with how good Music Compound has done in its short year of life” said Jenny Alday Townsend, President/Owner of Music Compound. “In 2016, 225 individuals attended a private lesson, group lesson, workshop, or education program at Music Compound. I also created 20 new jobs during the year and we gained 105 active monthly members. From our youngest student at 6 months, to our oldest at 87 years, all of us at Music Compound are committed to providing an environment to inspire, collaborate and educate music lovers of all ages. Here at Music Compound we are determined and hopeful to continue with everything that we accomplished in 2016, and to do even more in 2017 and in the years to follow.”
Throughout 2016, Music Compound continuously worked to provide a positive impact on the community. The highest recruitments of students were from Tatum, Pine View, and Sarasota Middle School. Several events for various nonprofits were hosted by Music Compound and more than $5,000 in gift certificates were donated by Music Compound to students. The “Backstage Tour” to 6 local entertainment and arts organizations for 27 high school students was fully funded by Music Compound as well. Along with an outstanding community impact, Music Compound provides great benefits for their members including; full access to the music studio, opportunities to perform monthly concerts and perform at community events, access to different musical workshops, and provided instruments onsite.
