SARASOTA, Fla. — Aviva: A Campus for Senior Life, (AvivaSeniorLife.org), Sarasota’s Only Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Rental Community has appointed Jay Solomon as interim Chief Executive Officer as Heidi Brown takes the helm as Chief Executive Officer for Jewish Family and Children Service of the Suncoast (JFCS).
As part of Aviva’s succession plan the management team led by Heidi Brown hired Jay Solomon as Chief Operating Officer knowing he was uniquely qualified to serve, if needed, as CEO. Solomon has an extensive background in healthcare and senior living. In his 30-year career, he has served in executive leadership roles at four major New Jersey not-for-profit health care organizations and has successfully built healthy, dynamic partnerships with local communities and leading for-profit partners. Starting January 9, he will assume the role as interim CEO to build upon Aviva’s recent rebranding and repositioning in the market and to provide leadership, superior service and support to residents and their families.
“We are very fortunate to have hired such a talented, caring and industry-experienced leader in Solomon who we believe can provide our residents, employees and community partners a rewarding relationship as well as organizational leadership. And that JFCS chose Brown to lead one of our sister organizations into the future is very gratifying,” said Randy Mallitz, Aviva’s Board President.
Mallitz and Steve Seidensticker, who serves as chairman of the board at JFCS, agreed that this change represents an opportunity for Aviva and JFCS to build an even more robust partnership.
Brown commented, “I am going from one great organization to another and I hope to build upon obvious synergies between these two important nonprofits who do such great work in our community. While I am extremely humbled to have been chosen for this important role with JFCS, I wholeheartedly believe there is no better senior living community than Aviva for my loved ones or any senior in our area.”
The leadership transition on the Aviva campus will not affect the operations of the Jewish Housing Council Foundation. For more information, please contact Stacy Prouty, Director of Sales, Marketing and Communications at 941.377.0781 x123.
