Colombini comes to WUSF with years of broadcasting experience in major media markets. A New York native, Colombini was previously a reporter for CBS Radio’s flagship station, WCBS Newsradio 880 in Manhattan. Her assignments varied from breaking news stories such as the 2016 bombings in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood and Seaside Park, to political campaigns and New Year’s Eve in Times Square.
Colombini graduated from Fordham University, where she began her career in radio. She served as a reporter and anchor at the NPR member station WFUV, and helped launch the news department’s first podcast series, Issues Tank. Her work in feature reporting and podcast production has earned awards from the Public Radio News Directors, Inc. and the Alliance for Women in Media.
“Stephanie will be a wonderful addition to our news team,” said WUSF Public Media General Manager JoAnn Urofsky. “She has a wide variety of skills, and I know she will play a major role in enhancing Florida Matters and many other WUSF programs. We are fortunate to have her here.”
