The groundbreaking for Dunedin Commons Apartments took place on Wednesday, December 14 at 10 a.m. at 375 Patricia Ave. Dunedin Commons will be Dunedin’s first substantial high-end luxury multi-family project to open in more than 15 years. The collaboration between the developer and the City of Dunedin on the project located on what was formerly the Nielsen Media Research campus promises to produce an economic catalyst for the Patricia Avenue corridor.
The developer for this project, Primerica Group One, began working with the City of Dunedin last year on Dunedin Commons – a 23+-acre mixed use project that will feature 280 apartment homes and 8,600 square feet of retail space on 13.8 acres. In addition to an amenity-filled clubhouse, the community will have six buildings – two 3-story and four 4-story buildings. All buildings will be elevator served for convenience.
“The City is very excited to see Dunedin Commons get underway,” said Robert Ironsmith, Director of Economic and Housing Development for the City of Dunedin. “This development will offer new housing choices for Dunedin residents and spur redevelopment activity on Patricia Avenue.”
With a December 2016 construction commencement, scheduled apartment occupancies will begin in late 2017. Dunedin Commons Apartments will include nine floor plans consisting of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom options, ranging from 675 square feet to 1,469 square feet with an average of 1,060 square feet, including balconies. Monthly rents will range from $1,050 to $1,800 per month.

Dunedin Commons is being developed by Primerica Group One. The development team includes Brooks and Freund General Contractors, Forum Architecture, WRA Engineers, and Focus Design Interiors. Norstar Accolade Property Management will be the management company.
