Tampa, Fla. – December 5, 2016 – Carlton Fields earned a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index for the eighth year in a row for its LGBT-inclusive policies, earning the distinction of the “Best Places to Work for LGBT Equality.”

The Corporate Equality Index (CEI) is a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality, administered by the Foundation. It rated 1,043 businesses in the 2017 report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. Carlton Fields’ efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
In addition to this ranking, Carlton Fields recently received several other honors for its commitment to diversity. In November, T-Mobile presented the firm with its annual “Legal Department Diversity Excellence Award. In October, the firm was recognized for its outstanding efforts to promote diversity in the legal professions by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD)., In August, Carlton Fields was chosen as a top law firm, ranked fifth in the country, by the Vault Guide to the Top 100 Law Firms for “Overall Diversity.” That same month, the firm placed in the top 15 (11th overall) on the 2016 American Lawyer Diversity Scorecard, a survey ranks the top 200 law firms in the U.S. and their diversity statistics.
