Tax Collector Mike Fasano announces that the Pasco County Tax Collector’s office will be hosting the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Drive on December 10 and 17 at the Gulf Harbors, Land O’ Lakes, Wesley Chapel and Dade City tax offices. The iconic red kettle will be available to collect donations from 9 AM to 1 PM at the four locations (addresses below). Volunteers from the tax collector’s office will be ringing the bell during the entire time the kettle is “open.”
“Supporting the Salvation Army and its excellent programs has always been a top priority of me and my staff over the years,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano states. “We are pleased to once again participate in this important holiday season fundraising effort. The services that are funded by this campaign make a lasting impact on the lives of women, children and families all throughout our community and beyond.”
The Salvation Army’s Center of Hope provides immediate, temporary assistance for those who need food, shelter, clothing and other assistance due to a crisis situation. Additionally, the Salvation Army runs a respected domestic violence shelter which has helped countless women escape from violent and abusive relationships. The Red Kettle Drive provides a large portion of the Army’s operating funds for these and other needed programs throughout the year.
Locations for the Red Kettle Drive on December 10 & 17 are:
Gulf Harbors – 4720 U.S. Highway 19, New Port Richey
Land O’ Lakes – 4111 Land O’ Lakes Blvd., Land O’ Lakes
Wesley Chapel – Compark 75 (off Wesley Chapel Blvd.) 4610 Pet Lane, C-101, Lutz
Dade City – 14236 – 6th Street, #100, Dade City
Additionally, throughout the entire month of December, The Volunteer Way collection jars will be on display at all five tax collector offices in the county, including the location at the West Pasco Government Center – 8731 Citizens Drive, Room 130, New Port Richey.
The Volunteer Way is a countywide food bank that provides food, free of charge, to individuals and families, churches, people who are homebound, and other local food banks. The mission of The Volunteer Way is make sure that nobody in the community goes without food. The Volunteer Way runs a soup kitchen in the Moon Lake area of Pasco County as well as two thrift stores, the proceeds of which are reinvested into the operation of the organization. The funds raised through this campaign will help offset the cost of the annual Volunteer Way / Farm Share Holiday Food Giveaway that Tax Collector Mike Fasano has hosted for the past 22 years.
“The Volunteer Way is one of the most respected charitable organizations in our county,” states Tax Collector Fasano. “With an administrative budget of less than one percent virtually every penny donated goes to services and food for those most in need. I encourage our customers to stop in any of our tax offices and drop their spare change or other donations into one of the many collection jars on display.”
The Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office is involved in charitable giving programs all throughout the year.
