Spring Hill, Florida (November 30, 2016) – Oak Hill Hospital is proud to announce the promotion of Susan Cooper, MSN, BSN, RN-BC as its new Vice President of Cardiac Services. Ms. Cooper was promoted from a previous leadership position as director of its neuro/tele unit and newly formed Clinical Decision Unit (CDU). Patients are placed in the CDU until there is a decision to either admit or discharge the patient. If admitted, the patient is then transferred to the appropriate inpatient unit.
Susan Cooper joined Oak Hill Hospital in 2013, bringing with her extensive nursing and leadership experience in cardiovascular patient care. Her most recent experience prior to coming to Oak Hill Hospital was as the cardiovascular intensive care unit manager at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point.
Ms. Cooper holds a Master of Science degree in nursing leadership from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of South Florida. Ms. Cooper is board certified in cardiovascular nursing.
While director of the neuro/tele and CDU units, she led her team to honors by receiving the HCA Med-Surg Excellence Unit for Distinction Award in 2015. As Vice President of Cardiac Services, she will focus her efforts on growing and strengthening the hospital’s cardiovascular services.
