St. Petersburg, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2016) – Starring three musicians whose instrumental works on the New Age/American folk label Windham Hill put a premium on intimacy and musicianship, the Windham Hill Winter Solstice tour stops at The Palladium Theater Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m., part of the “Mahaffey on the Move” concert series.
The exclusive performance features Liz Story, Barbara Higbie and Sean Harkness.
This ensemble in various forms has toured nationally for the past 10 years, in support of the acoustic music recording series that sold more than eight million copies.
Liz Story’s Windham Hill debut was 1983’s acclaimed Solid Colors. She is one of the world’s most popular solo piano artists.
Barbara Higbie (piano, violin, vocals) was a member of the Windham Hill supergroup Montreux, with Mike Marshal and Darrol Anger.
Jazz Inside New York compares Sean Harkness’ guitar playing with that of legends Joe Pass and Tommy Emmanuel.
