Seminole, FL (November10, 2016) – Seminole Mayor Leslie Waters has initiated a “Sock it to the Mayor” tube sock drive to benefit two Seminole organizations Operation: Military Matters and the Interfaith Food Pantry.
Operation: Military Matters, was founded by two Seminole Elementary School fifth graders, Graci Tubbs and Ava Spano. They collect donations including tube socks to go in care packages they send to the military overseas. The other organization is the Interfaith Food Pantry. As winter approaches they will distribute tube socks to clients in need of food and warm feet.
“The citizens, churches, schools and civic organization of Seminole are always generous with their giving. Hopefully, we can collect 500 pairs of tube socks. Local retail stores sell a bag of 10 pairs of socks for $10.00 or less. So sock to me…but only with socks!” smiled Mayor Leslie Waters.
The drop off boxes are at Seminole City Hall located at 9119 113th Street, Seminole. For more information call Mayor Leslie Waters at 727.391.0204 x102 or email her at email@example.com
