The holiday and winter season is approaching and the retail industry is forecasting positive consumer activity. Support the City’s local businesses and watch for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday local promotions this year. Have a comment? Send an e-mail.
A survey by the retail industry’s leading research group shows 91% of holiday shoppers saying they will be spending at physical stores, with 85% saying they check products online first before going to the store. Those same shoppers say they also stop for a meal, snack or drinks, benefiting other businesses as well. This is good news for our local retailers and restaurants, who are planning specials for November’s Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday. One of those specials to watch for is a special resident discount card good for 10% off any purchase at participating businesses.
