(SARASOTA, Fla., October 12, 2016) GreenZone Hero, as association of veteran-friendly businesses, was honored at an event marking Big Top Brewing Co.’s newest craft beer release, Black Ops Dark Wheat Ale. Big Top’s Seth Murauska and Josh Wilson, the brewmaster, came up with the idea to make the brew and hosted a release party celebration. GreenZone Hero (greenzonehero.com) will give donations collected at the release event and matching contributions from Big Top Brewing to a Sarasota-based nonprofit that helps veterans and their families heal, the Bill Brian Foundation.
“We are so pleased that Big Top Brewing is honoring our vets with this special craft beer,” said GreenZone Hero’s John Krotec. “They were the first craft brewery to sign up with GreenZone Hero as a veteran-friendly craft brewery. And we’re happy to be able to use this opportunity to raise money for a local vet-focused foundation that is doing excellent work.”
At the event, Krotec introduced Scott Bill, principal of the Brian Bill Foundation, a GreenZone Hero Ambassador nonprofit foundation. Scott Bill spoke about his son, Brian Bill, a Navy SEAL who was killed in August 2011, along with 30 other Americans (including a military working dog). He shared information about starting the foundation to honor his son and to help ease the suffering of other veterans and their families through healing retreats.
“It’s an honor to be involved with GreenZone and the Big Top Brewery,” said Scott Bill. “We appreciate their support for our veterans, the Special Operations Forces community and Gold Star Families. Working together to change lives and save lives, we will all make a difference for our Heroes suffering from their invisible wounds.”
