BRANDON, Fla., Oct. 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Ophthalmologist, Dr. Craig Berger, becomes a welcome addition to the practice in Brandon as of November 1st, reports Brandon Eye Associates. Dr. Craig Berger will be coming aboard part-time to serve the needs of patients at Brandon Eye Associates, in addition to maintaining his own private practice. He specializes in the treatment of cataract, dry eye disease and in cornea transplant eye surgery and is a board certified fellowship trained corneal ophthalmic eye surgeon. He performs Bladeless Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery with the Lensar femtosecond laser and brings his high level of expertise to serve eye patients at Brandon Eye Associates.
Dr. Berger obtained a Doctorate of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1995. He completed an internship at the Mayo Clinic, and his residency at the Tulane School of Medicine. He underwent an additional year of sub-specialty training in cornea and refractive surgery and was involved in the first of the efficacy and safety studies of Restasis® on patients experiencing dry eye.
Craig Berger, M.D. worked as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida Eye Institute and was a full-time professor for 15 years. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a member of professional associations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The Florida Medical Association and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He holds numerous awards and accomplishments all before opening his private practice in 2007.
