Belle of the Ball Clearwater was burglarized of girls jewelrySept 23,
Belle of the Ball, which gives homecoming dresses to area needy girls, has received an overwhelming response to its request for donations following a robbery in the middle of its homecoming season. Hands Across the Bay/Gold and Diamond Source, Charming Charlie`s, and HSN are among the major donors, and individual donors have been overwhelming, mostly anonymously.
The Belle of the Ball boutique at 1210 Holt Avenue, Clearwater was burglarized of girl’s jewelry Thursday, September 23 after burglars broke a window and entered the store. Approximately $500 in jewelry was taken. The jewelry is purchased by Belle of the Ball using monetary donations to compliment the girl`s outfits, with donors funds. Clearwater Police are investigating.
The charity continues to seek donations to replenish the jewelry to complete the homecoming season. Cash can be sent to Belle of the Ball Project, 1810 Cross Creek Way E Dunedin Fla 34698.
The charity is half-way through its homecoming 2016 season, having given almost 200 dresses to girls from 6 counties. There are two shopping dates left, October 8 and October 22. Details of receiving a dress are below.
“We are so appreciative of the community support in our time of need,” said Susan Schwartz, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. “Belle of the Ball tries to give each girl a pleasant shopping experience and build their self -esteem. We have ten dressing rooms, offer each girl a personal shopper to assist her in her selections, and offer purses, shoes and jewelry to compliment the dress. Girls are usually amazed at the quantity and quality of our dresses and their shopping experience with us.”
“We have dress distributions in the fall and spring, arranged around high school homecoming and prom dates. We have no paid employees. Dresses are donated to us by individuals and businesses. Our web site is www.belleoftheballproject.com
