TAMPA, Fla. (Oct. 6, 2016) – In an attempt to aid client education and enhance its comprehensive agent training program Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group (BHHS FPG) has partnered with the Woodruff Group to present a series of workshops designed to reinforce the human aspects of marketing and the benefits of establishing long-term client-agent relationships.
In sessions held at the company’s training facility in Tampa, independent consultant Steve Woodruff of The Woodruff Group is showing agents how to leverage their skills, knowledge and expertise to educate their clients and simplify the buying and selling processes.
“We are always seeking better ways to conduct business and enhance our client services and in order to do that it’s important to listen to other experts and integrate similar philosophies,” said Dewey Mitchell, Broker/Owner, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Florida Properties Group. “We’re stressing the need to teach clients what to look for when buying or selling a home, and showing clients why they should turn to their Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices agent as a source of knowledge.”
The consumer-friendly trend Woodruff terms “consultative selling” focuses on client education. Under this concept agents operate as trusted guides leading their clients into the future and assisting them with critical life decisions.
Woodruff describes the workshops as “real working, skill-building, interactive sessions”, much like the sales environment he is encouraging the BHHS FPG agents to establish with their clients.
Going back to an era when buying a home was a culmination of a family’s hopes and dreams, BHHS FPG is listening to clients’ needs, putting them ahead of its bottom line, according to Woodruff. Under this philosophy, agents approach client meetings as job interviews, where the price of the home is the last parameter addressed. The focus becomes the integrity and reputation of the firm, the skill of the agent, and the strength of the marketing plan when executed by the right agent.
“The value for the consumer,” Woodruff said, “is measured not in dollars, but, in the integrity of the sales person and his or her ability to understand the client’s needs and expectations.”
Woodruff has already ‘graduated’ one group of BHHS FPG sales executives from the series of five workshops held earlier this year. Participants in these sessions have embraced Woodruff’s philosophy and have been applying the principles to their work. Because of the success of the program Woodruff has returned to the area to address a new class of participants currently taking place.
“Real estate is about more than properties; it’s about people,” states Mitchell. “There is a human aspect to this business and we understand that clients are looking for someone to market their home, while at the same time build a trusting, long-term relationship,” Mitchell said.
