Sarasota, FL. (October 1, 2016) The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is hosting its annual Media Breakfast on October 13, 8-11 a.m., at the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, 2635 Fruitville Road, Sarasota. Tickets are $45 for FPRA members; $55 for guests. Tickets include breakfast; additionally, attendees will receive a 2016-2017 media directory, which includes contact information and preferences of area assignment editors, reporters, freelance writers and other members of the media. “Each year, the FPRA Media Breakfast offers attendees crucial networking opportunities with regional media representatives,” says Mischa Kirby, president of the CWC-FPRA. “Public relations and communications professionals, nonprofit groups and other interested individuals are given the rare opportunity to meet local news representatives in person and discover new ways to effectively communicate with the media.”
According to Kirby, the program will begin with a panel discussion featuring area broadcast media representatives. Panel members include Kim Kuizon, a reporter for Fox 13; Joey Panek, the senior producer of ABC-7’s “Suncoast View,” and Craig Burdick, the news director for SNN-6. The panel will discuss ways regional news outlets are reinventing themselves across multiple platforms.
Following the panel discussion, a series of rotating roundtables of attendees and media professionals will give attendees the opportunity to speak with eight to 10 media representatives from a variety of media formats. Editors and writers from the Observer Media Group, 941CEO, SRQ Magazine, Flamingo Magazine and others will offer their expertise and advice during the session.
