SARASOTA COUNTY – Learn more about your family history in a series of genealogy classes beginning this weekend at North Port Public Library.
“Genealogy in a Nutshell” is a series of three classes designed for both the new genealogist and as a refresher course for the intermediate genealogist. Students will learn to use the tools of both traditional and online genealogy research. Online genealogy databases will be reviewed, with discussion of successful research strategies.
Pre-registration is required, and you must be registered and attend the first class from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 1, in order to attend the next two Saturdays, Oct. 8 and 15. Seating will be limited to 20.
The class will be taught by Joanne Ryder, local genealogist/lecturer on myriad standard genealogy topics and specialty lectures on German genealogy.
North Port Public Library is located at 13800 Tamiami Trail, North Port.
