St. Petersburg, FL: The Diocese of St. Petersburg invites the media to attend our annual Hispanic Mass / Misa Hispana, celebrated by Most Reverend Robert N. Lynch, Bishop of St. Petersburg.
The Hispanic Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle (5815 5th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710). The day will begin by praying the Rosary at 10 a.m., followed by the procession of Our Lady of Aparecida, the patroness of Brazil. A procession of flags from the countries represented at the Mass will follow at 10:30 A.M. The Mass will begin at 11:00 A.M. A small reception will follow the Mass.
The number of Hispanic Catholics continues to increase within the Diocese of St. Petersburg. There are 445,456 registered Catholics in the Tampa Bay area. Of that number, there are more than 80,000 Hispanic Catholics.
