Brooksville, Florida (September 23, 2016) – The City of Brooksville and Brooksville Main Street announce the following activities for the opening of Founders’ Week on October 8. Founders’ Week will begin with Market on Main Street at 9 am and will feature:
Food tasting and fresh flower demos
Build your own scarecrow – a fun activity for all ages
Historic tour of the Brooksville cemetery by City of Brooksville and downtown mural tours conducted by Hernando County Arts Council
“Back in time” fashion show featuring a fashion show of costumes of varying periods in Brooksville’s history
Entertainment will be provided by the Tyler Creek Road Band and Florida Cracker Boys.
Founders’ Week runs from October 8 through 1 pm on October 15.
Downtown Brooksville Founders Week to conclude with a wide range of activities on October 15 with the following activities from 9 am to 1 pm:
Market on Main Street
Trunk or treat
Kids’ Halloween costume contest
Breast cancer awareness walk with the Brooksville City Council
Entertainment provided by the SilverBack Rock N Roll Band
