Girls Night Out is Sept. 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m. and more than a dozen businesses are participating.
There are no tickets to buy. Just stop by one of the participating locations to get a free map to the goodies and specials.
Lea Williams, owner of Got Candy & More, suggested the event to Downtown Lakeland Partnership Executive Director Ellen Simms after seeing a similar event in Plant City.
“The Downtown Lakeland Partnership is good as creating events that attract people Downtown,” Simms says. “This event is another way to get people downtown and to specifically show them that we are more than just restaurants and bars. This is a good way to open people’s eyes to the vast array of businesses downtown.”
Martial arts studios, jewelry makers, spas, dance academies, retail shops and office rental facilities are among the participants of the first Girls Night Out.

This event will be held quarterly.
