GULFPORT, FL – LocalShops1, the area’s leading advocate for local businesses, is excited to announce it has opened its newest concept, the LocalShops1 Pop-Up! Shop. The space is possibly the first of its kind in Pinellas County.
Pop-up shops (short-term or temporary stores), also known as flash retailing, are very popular in large cities including New York, London and Los Angeles, and among large brands such as Kate Spade, Gucci and Louis Vuitton. With its space, LocalShops1 is able to help local artists and local businesses in the Tampa Bay region to also use the pop-up concept as part of their marketing campaigns to build brand awareness, launch new products, test the market and reach new customers.
“The pop-up concept is yet another way to empower small businesses,” says Ester Venouziou, LocalShops1 founder. “We’re excited to be at the forefront of this movement in the Tampa Bay region!”
Pop-up shops are especially effective in walkable communities and during local markets, so LocalShops1’s location in downtown Gulfport’s Arts District is a perfect fit. Downtown Gulfport features weekly markets and two monthly art walks, in addition to several large annual festivals. And its proximity to downtown St Pete, the Beaches and Interstate 275 makes it convenient for shoppers coming from Sarasota, Tampa and everywhere in between.
The shop, at 2908 Beach Blvd S in Gulfport, features two spaces for pop-up businesses. The first one is on the front, about 8 feet wide and 7 feet deep, and includes the big window display plus a small space outside directly in front of the window. The second space is in the middle, and can accommodate two 6-foot tables, and includes a 7 by 7 space outside near the sidewalk.
Pop-up spaces at the LocalShops1 shop have already been reserved by several local artists and businesses, including White Pine Studio, This Life Photography, Earth Day St Pete, FinFish and Creative Chaos. The spaces are available by the day, during markets/art walks, and by the month, for businesses interested in testing going “brick-and-mortar.” The spaces are available exclusively for business owners and artists in the Tampa Bay region.
With the new space, LocalShops1 is also expanding its a-la-carte and bundled marketing services, including press releases, business profiles, social media management, print and digital design and more. The organization is partnering with one of its longtime members, Nancy Howe of Tampa Bay Newswire to provide local businesses with the best services, both in-house and through referrals to other LocalShops1 business-to-business members.
The shop also has plenty of shelf space to display LocalShops1 members’ business cards and brochures. This is an added free perk for members.
