The Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office announces that $3,386.72 was raised at the five tax collector offices in Pasco County for the Alzheimer’s Family Organization during the month of July. The Alzheimer’s Family Organization provides educational programs, support services and assistance to caregivers, families and individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Dollars raised through this charitable giving promotion will provide needed funds to support existing services and expand the reach of the Alzheimer’s Family Organization so it can serve more individuals.
“Thank you so much,” comments Kathleen Winters, Executive Director of the Alzheimer’s Family Organization. “Every dollar we receive supports the local communities (8 counties) in our service area. What you do in Pasco is unique and is a true tribute to the dedication Mr. Fasano and the tax office have to the community!”
Every dollar that was raised through this promotion will go directly to the charity for use here in our local community. The Alzheimer’s Family Organization provides a host of services including respite care financial assistance, wanderer’s identification, support groups and a telephone help line. Helping those who have the disease, and family members care for a loved one with some form of dementia, are the key goals of the Organization.
“Dementia comes in many forms and unfortunately far too many people suffer from this debilitating disease,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “I have been so impressed with the level of care and concern the Alzheimer’s Family Organization has shown to so many people over the past twenty years. The stress on not only the patients but the family and other caregivers can be great. A service provider like the Organization can make a world of difference for all who are involved in caring for someone with dementia. I would also like to recognize the very generous individuals who visited our offices and made a donation during this charitable giving promotion. Without their kindness we would not be able to help support this fine program.”
