ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – (Aug. 11, 2016) – Entrepreneur, executive and mentor Tom Binion has been named a director at TEC Garage, an incubator and coworking entrepreneurial center operated by Tampa Bay Innovation Center. He is responsible for developing strategic goals for client service, recruiting and providing business assistance to clients, recruiting and coordinating a resource network and linking clients to funding opportunities.
“Tom has volunteered as a coach and mentor for TEC Garage in the past, and we are so pleased that he has now joined us as director,” says Tonya Elmore, president of Tampa Bay Innovation Center. “His experience as an executive and entrepreneur, working with large national firms and startups is invaluable in his work with our clients.”
Binion is a partner in the Georgia real estate development firm Forbin Partners, which he founded in 2005. He is also a partner in the real estate development firm, Quail Hollow Land, LLC.
Before launching Forbin Partners, Binion spent much of his career in executive management positions in both healthcare and financial services. Most recently he served as president and chief operating officer of Transcend Services, a provider of technology based transcription services for hospitals and large physician groups. Prior to that, he was vice president, radiology operations for Per-Se Technologies where he managed 1,600 employees and more than $100 million in revenue through 96 offices nationwide. He also held executive management positions in operations for financial services companies Allmerica Financial based in Worchester, Mass. and Life of Georgia based in Atlanta, Ga.
Binion received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech.
