When it comes to finding the perfect furniture for your space, it can be a challenging and sometimes daunting task. Furniture is expensive…it’s an investment of sorts and you want to make the correct decision, right?! It’s even more difficult to find the right pieces when you are on a budget, but have no fear! I am about to let you in on a little secret…if you are going to spend money, spend it on the right piece (right being the operative word here), the one you really can’t live without! When you have an “expensive” piece of furniture as the focal piece in your home or room, it adds “value” to the rest of the space; basically it makes all the rest of the furniture feel expensive as well!
I was talking with one of our clients earlier this week about finding a TV console for the living room. As we were going back and forth over the choices, the phrase slipped out, “the one I really like is more expensive…I don’t really like any of these “cheaper” options, but I will keep looking for something I like better that’s a good deal!” Unfortunately we all tend to think this way sometimes, but I want to offer a bit of encouragement. Your home is your oasis…buy the elements for the space you love, not just the ones you like, even if it costs more up front. Over time, if you buy the “budget” option, you will eventually replace it because you don’t like it…which means you will end up spending more money in the long run!
It’s ok to indulge a little on the “right” pieces for your home…like this amazing table paired with IKEA chairs!
