TRINITY, Fla. (August 8, 2016) – The Watermark at Trinity, a sophisticated assisted living and memory care community located in Trinity’s Foxwood Commerce Park, has opened its doors to residents. The community addresses the growing need for senior living in this fast-growing area, which at the time of the groundbreaking had only one assisted living community operating within a five-mile radius.
Over the next several weeks, the first 52 residents will move into the community.
“It’s an exciting time for us,” said Aileen Carlson, executive director of The Watermark at Trinity. “Over the last several months, we’ve hosted resident events and outings for our founding residents and really gotten to know everyone. We are so excited to finally welcome them home.”
The Watermark at Trinity has 117 apartments available for rent across many unique floor plans and sizes, with the first floor dedicated to memory care and the second and third to assisted living. On-site amenities include lush gardens, walking paths, a movie theater, beauty salon and barbershop, and on-site physical therapy.
Unique to The Watermark at Trinity is Thrive Dining™, which takes high-quality ingredients and transforms them into tasty, protein-packed meals that are served as bite-sized hors d’oeuvres eaten by hand. This allows individuals with cognitive and neuromuscular disorders to eat the same nutritious meals as other residents without using a fork or knife. The community is among the first in the country to adopt this innovative program, which restores the joy and dignity of dining.
The community offers unique educational programming tailored to both the assisted living and memory care neighborhoods. Residents can attend and even teach classes – from floral design, chair yoga and cake decorating to Facebook 101 – that share their passions and engage their minds and bodies.
In addition, unlike traditional senior living models where care is divided between multiple caregivers, memory care associates – called Nayas – spend the entire day with residents and are more likely to notice the early signs of concern that might otherwise go unnoticed.
“From our dining program to our updated interiors and a full calendar of events, we are breaking the mold and providing senior living that today’s seniors want and truly deserve,” said Jennifer Naster, sales director for The Watermark at Trinity.
The Watermark at Trinity is owned and managed by Watermark Retirement Communities. The community was designed by Tampa-based Chancey Design Partnership and broke ground in November 2014.
The community brings a number of new jobs to Trinity, with more than 70 full- and part-time positions to be created once the community is fully occupied. Currently, there are 30 people on staff.
