Sarasota, FL (August 5th) – Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, Inc. (SANCA) has announced that Meghan Farrell has joined the organization as the new program manager for Nathan Benderson Park (NBP), where she will be in charge of all programming at the Sarasota County park. Ms. Farrell will be responsible for maintaining the current programming in place and building upon it to add more activities that will appeal to a diverse audience of beginner, intermediate and advanced fitness and outdoor enthusiasts residing in the community.
“We are excited to have Meghan join us to help expand the roster of activities and programs we offer the community,” said Bob Whitford, SANCA’s director of facilities and operations. “We are confident she will be able to broaden our programming opportunities to draw more people out to the park on a regular basis.”
No stranger to rowing, Ms. Farrell comes to NBP from Sarasota Scullers, where she served as the varsity women’s rowing coach. Under her coaching, two teams qualified to compete in USRowing’s Youth Nationals competition.
Meghan holds both Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in adult education with an emphasis in intercollegiate athletic administration from the University of Oklahoma. As an undergraduate, Meghan rowed with the OU women’s varsity team for four years. As a graduate assistant, she served as OU Rowing’s director of operations and graduate assistant coach.
Originally from Phoenix, AZ, Meghan began her rowing career with Tempe Junior Crew.
The Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, Inc. (SANCA), is a not-for-profit business created to manage Nathan Benderson Park, a Sarasota County park and world class, multi-use sports venue. Its mission is to improve the quality of life for our community and be an economic generator for the Sarasota-Bradenton area. SANCA’s primary purpose is to develop and promote Nathan Benderson Park as a world class event center, team training site and Sarasota County Park, while providing outreach programs through recreation, safety training, education and volunteering as a service to our community.
