At TPC Prestancia, Sarasota on Saturday, August 13th
Orlando, Fla. – The North Florida PGA is excited to have conducted another year of Drive Chip and Putt qualifiers all over the state of Florida. Coming up next, 120 Juniors have qualified for the Sub-Regional Qualifier at TPC Prestancia on Saturday, August 13th. The competition will begin at 8:00 am where these 120 Juniors will compete for the opportunity to advance to the Regional Qualifier at TPC Sawgrass on Saturday, September 10th. These special players have successfully completed that difficult first step through Local Qualifiers as they chase their dream to the Drive Chip and Putt National Championship, taking place at Augusta National Golf Club (the home of The Masters) on April 2rd, 2017. From this Sub-Regional Qualifier, the Top 2 players from each division will earn their way to the Regional Qualifier at TPC Sawgrass. It will be here where the Champion from each division will have completed their quest to compete in Augusta! We congratulate all of those who have made it this far, and wish them well at the next level!
Juniors Ages 7 up to 15 will compete in a competition focused on Driving, Chipping and Putting, that mirrors the NFL’s Punt, Pass and Kick competition. Each junior will hit three drives into a long drive style driving grid and then hit three chip shots into giant painted rings around the hole and then hit three putts into painted rings all for points.
