Lakeland, FL – The Watson Clinic Cancer & Research Center is proud to be the only facility in the state to receive the 2016 Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC). This award was given following a rigorous evaluation of our cancer center operations, which also led to our 3-year gold status reaccreditation from the same organization.
The highly coveted Outstanding Achievement Award is only given to facilities that set a standard for excellence in cancer care that other facilities across the country are encouraged to follow by example. Watson Clinic’s cancer center also received this award following their previous evaluation in 2013.
So far this year, the CoC has surveyed a total of 239 cancer facilities across the country. The results of our evaluation set us apart as not only the state’s sole recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award, but also as the only freestanding facility in Florida to have achieved gold status reaccreditation– the highest level of achievement possible – across every judging category.
