Gwen Leroy-Kelly, Associate AIA, joins Hive Architects Inc., as a Partner to Principal, Joe Kelly, AIA, NCARB. Hive Architects specializes in residential architecture, interior design, and private commercial projects with a focus on regional modernism. With Leroy-Kelly’s commercial background and expertise, she is broadening the firm’s experience level, which allows Hive Architects to pursue a broader range of commissions. Combined, this husband and wife team bring 24 years of professional experience in architectural practice, including residential architecture, coastal houses and state permitting, historic preservation, and private, civic, and commercial projects.
Prior to joining Hive, Gwen spent 11 years at Sweet-Sparkman Architects honing her skills under the guidance of principals, Todd Sweet and Jerry Sparkman. During this time, she served as Project Manager on many high-profile municipal projects, including the Sarasota County Beach Pavilions located at Casperson Beach and South Lido Park, Fire Station No. 12 on Bee Ridge Road and Fire Station No.17 on Desoto Road near The Mall at UTC, the Selby Library Teen Center, and the Ringling College of Art and Design’s new Library on MLK Boulevard.
