Tampa, Florida (June 30, 2016) – Tampa Community Hospital announces the appointment of David V. Degenhardt, D.O., RPh., as Director of Medical Emergency Services. Dr. Degenhardt comes to Tampa Community Hospital from Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida where he served as Medical Director. Dr. Degenhardt has had an extensive background and education in emergency medicine. He has completed emergency medicine residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, New York. He also served a residency in emergency medicine at New York United Hospital Medical Center in Port Chester, New York, and even completed an emergency medicine emphasis internship at South Pointe Hospital/Cleveland Clinic in Warrensville, Ohio.
Dr. Degenhardt received his medical degree from the University of New England where he also served as a student liaison to South Maine Osteopathic Association. Dr. Degenhardt has an additional doctorate in pharmacy from the Pharmacy School of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Degenhardt is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine. He is licensed to practice medicine in both New York state and Florida, and he has PALS and ACLS certifications. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.
