Jennifer Ahearn-Koch is pleased to announce the launch of her new firm, JAK Consults, a marketing and communications consulting firm in Sarasota, Florida. JAK Consults specializes in relevant marketing communication offering services in marketing consulting, strategic planning, and market research, along with public relations, social media consulting, online community planning, art direction, and graphic design. Jennifer Ahearn-Koch has worked freelance as the Marketing, PR, and Design Director for Mattison’s Restaurants & Catering since 2004. ”I am very excited about the opportunity to focus on building my business, and over the next six weeks, I am phasing out my day-to-day, hands-on marketing responsibilities with Mattison’s. I will still be involved in the ‘Mattison’s World’, but on a project-by-project basis,” says Jennifer Ahearn-Koch. Jennifer earned her Masters Degree from Columbia University, in New York City in 1990 and her Bachelor of Arts from the American University in Paris in 1986. She lived in Paris, France for 12 non-consecutive years working in the magazine and publishing industry. In 1996 she moved back to Sarasota with her family, initially working with the Asolo Theatre as the Art Director before starting her own freelance business in 2001. While Mattison’s Restaurants & Catering Company was her main client since 2004, she has worked with other profit and non-profit organizations including: Linens by the Sea, GuitarSarasota, C’est La Vie, The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, The Asolo Theatre, Art Center Sarasota, The Ringling Museum, The Jazz Festival, SCOPE, and more.
Jennifer was recently accepted into the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s consulting cohort, I3 or Invest in Incredible, as a marketing consultant which offers consulting opportunities to non-profit organizations in the area.
Experienced in the City of Sarasota’s neighborhood and City planning projects, Jennifer has consulted for organizations pursuing the preservation of their neighborhood, especially focusing on compatibility with development issues. She has also worked on a variety of local political campaigns and issues. Having volunteered for the City of Sarasota’s Planning Board for six years, along with serving as her neighborhood’s president since 2009, she has a comprehensive understanding of the City’s development process and has successfully consulted for a variety of clients. Neighborhood consulting is an area in which Jennifer would like to increase her focus, as she is passionate about the preservation of the area’s neighborhoods.
