The Tampa Bay Golden Strings, directed by Eden Vaning, rosined up their bows and started their summer “Patriotic Tour” performing in the Safety Harbor Fourth-of-July Parade. The Golden Strings, comprised of 6 year-olds through teen-aged violin, viola and cello students of Ms. Vaning, have performed for national news documentaries, at Disney World, Steinbrenner Field, and throughout the Tampa Bay Area. Many Students participate in the High Point YMCA Musical Alternatives Program, where older advanced students can give back by working with beginners. The young group of “Musical Ambassadors of Goodwill” are preparing for their upcoming performance at the St. Petersburg VA Hospital.
“There is no reason to stop our Patriotic Tour because the 4th of July is over” said ten year old violinist Arlette Venturag, “because there are brave men and women out there who put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe. We need to thank them, and we’ll be out there all year to tell them we appreciate them through our music!”
