PALM HARBOR, FL (June 29, 2016) – Geographic Solutions recently welcomed workforce development, labor market information, and unemployment insurance professionals from throughout the United States to the 13th Annual Workforce Technology Conference in Orlando, Florida. This year’s attendee roster totaled over 250 attendees, representing 32 states and 97 distinct agencies. A group of 98 attendees also participated in the pre-conference training on the latest versions of Virtual OneStop and Virtual LMI.
This year’s conference featured a variety of informative sessions and included a focus on the integration of federal workforce programs, such as the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Wagner-Peyser, Participant Individual Record Layout (PIRL) reporting, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Vocational Rehabilitation, and Adult Education.
The conference also included sessions presented by industry leaders from the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB), the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA), and the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP). Additional topics covered included labor market information tools, unemployment insurance benefits and tax, data security and fraud prevention, federal reporting tools, mobile applications, responsive web design, and more.
In addition to a packed conference schedule, attendees had a chance to network with other state and local agencies, as well as participate in real-time voting on future enhancements to the Geographic Solutions’ product line. This year’s conference also introduced a new emcee, Rusty Kath, and welcomed back Glenda Doles as the keynote speaker.
