The Continuing Workforce Education department of Pasco-Hernando State College recently announced a Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) training program. This 80-hour online course will be offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 10 p.m., beginning July 12, 2016, and will run for 10 weeks. This program is being presented in partnership with Polk State College.
The MSSC is an industry-led training, assessment and certification system focused on the core skills and knowledge needed by the nation’s production workers. The MSSC system awards the Production Technician Certification to non-incumbent and incumbent workers. PHSC is a certified MSSC assessment center, offering training and certification through its Continuing Workforce Education department.
The Certified Production Technician (CPT) Training Program includes courses in four manufacturing modules: safety awareness; production and processes; maintenance awareness and quality assurance. Certificates are awarded at the conclusion of each module when passing scores are earned. A CPT Certification is awarded once all four module assessments are passed.
