Brandon, Florida (June 14, 2016) – The medical staff at Brandon Regional Hospital recently awarded 25 $1,000 “Doctors’ Scholarships” to students graduating from local high schools. The awards were presented by Brandon Regional Hospital’s past chief of its medical staff, Michael Siegman, MD, and Daniel Lorch, MD, and Joseph Corcoran, DO. The awards were presented at a reception held at Brandon Regional Hospital on May 25, 2016.
In making the presentation Drs. Siegman, Lorch and Corcoran acknowledged each of the recipients’ efforts in completing the application process, obtaining peer reference letters, and submitting an essay and acknowledging the next steps in their future endeavors and education. The high school scholarship recipients included senior students from area high schools as well as dependents from members of the hospital staff. The following individuals were selected and received 2016 medical staff scholarships.

The scholarships are awarded annually by the medical staff at Brandon Regional Hospital and are funded primarily by the dues paid by each physician. Scholarship winners are selected a review committee composed of medical staff officers.
