Pro Football Hall of Famer Jack Youngblood, one of the most prolific players ever to hail from the state, will appear for an autograph signing and meet and greet this Saturday, June 11, at the Florida Sports Hall of Fame Preview Center in Davenport.
Youngblood, inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame in 1975, will sign autographs from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the newly-opened center, located inside Central Florida’s Visitor Information Center at 101 Adventure Court in Davenport. Youngblood, who was born in Jacksonville and grew up in Monticello, was an All-American at the University of Florida, where he was one of the greatest Gators of all-time and one of only five players to be named to the Gator Ring of Honor. He went on to a 14-year NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams in which he was selected consensus All-Pro five times and played in seven Pro Bowls. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.
Youngblood served for a time as general manager of the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League and won a league championship in 1998. He remains active in the Orlando Community and nationwide.
In addition to enjoying Youngblood’s appearance, visitors and residents will be able to explore all that Central Florida has to offer in family fun and activities at Saturday’s event. There will be games, prize giveaways, bounce houses for kids, and booths and displays by LEGOLAND® Florida Resort, Bok Tower Gardens, Mulberry Phosphate Museum, the Bloodmobile and numerous craft and specialty vendors.
Food will be available for purchase from local vendors, including Beef ‘O’ Brady’s. Both LEGOLAND Florida Resort and Bok Tower Gardens will feature special “Buy One, Get One Free” offers on tickets purchased during the event.
