Saint Leo University (www.saintleo.edu) has created a new, online specialization for its Master of Business Administration program with a concentration in risk management. A graduate certificate option is available as well.
Saint Leo University is known throughout the Southeast for its University Campus in Florida, its education centers for adult learners in multiple states, and its extensive online degree offerings.
Courses for the new MBA specialization will begin in the Fall Semester 2016 and the tuition for the 36-credit program is highly competitive at $651 per credit hour. The courses have been developed and will be taught by faculty from Saint Leo’s Donald R. Tapia School of Business.
Students complete seven core courses of the foundational MBA program, covering human resource topics, managerial economics, financial and managerial accounting, marketing, and global and strategic management. The concentration adds five graduate courses covering risk management, insurance, specialized finance, accounting, and law and ethics. With this academic background, graduates will also be ready for the industry’s Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters professional examination. The CPCU® designation is highly respected in the field.
In addition, the combination of normal industry job growth and an aging demographic among existing professionals will make Saint Leo graduates highly qualified candidates for job opportunities and promotion.
Students who have already started the general MBA option at Saint Leo University have the option of moving into this specialization.
Alternately, prospective students who are interested only in the specific risk management and insurance curriculum—rather than the full MBA—may opt for an 18-credit hour graduate certificate. The certificate curriculum includes the five courses in the MBA specialization, plus another three-credit course in organizational behavior.
