A Day in the Life…
With the Holiday weekend coming up, many of us are looking forward to having the extra day to relax, soak up the sun (some of you may have already gotten a head start), or cookout with friends. For those of us hosting (myself included), it means a frantic dash to clean and organize your home in preparation for those who may be staying with you…eeek! I recently wrote an article for a local magazine regarding healthy design. I talked about how staging your home, as if you were hosting guests, helps the space feel inviting and relaxing, which creates a peaceful environment in your home. Now that we ARE hosting guests, I thought this would be a good time to add on to it! Not only should you stage your home, but bring the outside in! Add fresh flowers to the dining room table and amidst the carefully placed magazines in the living room, add a plant to spruce up the space. By bringing in “green” elements, (no pun intended…well, maybe J), it brings a sense of unity to the space by complimenting the outdoors.
Isn’t it an important part of life to enjoy the outdoors?! So, why not bring some of it in (especially when it’s 150 outside, and you don’t want to leave the air conditioning)! Check out this photo from our One Watergate Project!
