(St. Petersburg, FL. May 26, 2016) Blood donations are urgently needed for all blood types. The blood supply has reached extremely low levels due to high usage in area hospitals. The public is urged to donate with OneBlood, the local blood center, as soon as possible. Especially needed are O Negative and O Positive blood types, as well as platelet donations.

O Negative is critical for trauma patients, premature babies, cancer patients and emergency surgeries.

[if !supportLists]· [endif]Platelets are vitally needed to treat cancer patients. They will be transfused into cancer patients within 5 days of your donation and help sustain the lives of patients during treatment.
