Jane Castor will be keynote speaker.
Tampa, FL, Wednesday, May 25, 2016…The American Red Cross of Tampa Bay will hold its 99th Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, 1601 South MacDill Avenue, Tampa from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Keynote speaker will be Jane Castor, retired Tampa Police Chief.
Castor joined the Tampa Police Department in 1983 where she was elected the first female president of a police academy class. In 2009, she became the first woman to be named chief of the Tampa Police Department. Chief Castor testified before the Presidential Task Force on 21st Century Policing in February 2015. She served on the board of the Major City Chiefs Association and on Harvard’s Executive Session on Policing & Public Safety. She was named Woman Law Enforcement Executive of the Year in 2009 by the National Association of Women in Law Enforcement.
