SARASOTA, Fla. – Three current Sarasota County School Board members have endorsed Eric Robinson (EricRobinsonforSchoolBoard.com), a District 3 Sarasota County School Board candidate, in the upcoming November race.
Jane Goodwin, District 5; Bridget Ziegler, District 1; and Frank Kovach, the current District 3 member have all endorsed Robinson for the seat, praising his financial background and knowledge of the issues in the county.
“Eric serves the education community in Sarasota in so many ways – his expertise in serving on boards; understanding of finance and budgets; generosity to student needs and causes,” said Goodwin, District 5 Sarasota County School Board member. “I believe, after working with Eric for many years, that he will be a great asset to our school board having put the time and attention into understanding Sarasota County Schools.”
Kovach, the Sarasota County School Board member who currently holds the District 3 seat, is vacating the position. “Eric is a constant presence at every Sarasota County School Board meeting and has been for years,” said Kovach. “He certainly understands the issues facing the board and the district, and I believe the students, staff and parents in the district will be in good hands when he is elected to fill this seat.”
Ziegler praised Robinson’s ability to build consensus and his vast understanding of the budget process.
“With Eric’s background as a CPA and his experience serving on several boards in the region, he will be a great asset to the board,” said Ziegler. “He understands how to collaborate and work together to tackle tough issues, and I look forward to serving with him.”
