A Day in the Life…
The Façade (must be said with a British accent because it just sounds better that way) is one of the key elements to an overall great design, yet it is commonly overlooked. What’s the point of having an amazing design for the interior of your home, only to have one of your friends pull into the driveway and say, “Huh? This doesn’t look all that fabulous!” You want the whole package to be incredible, right? So…why not address the exterior of your home when you are renovating the inside (or when you’re building, for that matter)! We were at a consultation earlier this week where the owners were not only looking to renovate, but also dress up the exterior to match. As well pulled in, we drove past the grand entrance (again, insert British accent), a beautiful gate with stacked stone and landscaping. As we approached the home, we noticed the exterior could use some sprucing up to match the entry, from which we would draw our inspiration. Fortunately, as is the case with many homes, the solution is not all that difficult, and can complement the overall design.
As per the example in the photo from one of our projects in The Hammocks (as may also apply to the above), some simple, colorful landscaping paired with beautiful stacked stone and exterior lighting can go a long way to make your home look like a million bucks! Which…is what you want if it is…well…a million dollar home!
