Tampa, Fla. – May 19, 2016 – Ignite! Tampa Bay is a high-energy evening designed to inspire, educate, entertain and spark new ideas and conversations across cultures and disciples of the Tampa Bay Community. Through fast-paced, bite-sized presentations community members get on stage and share their personal or professional passion. It’s a great opportunity to meet smart, interesting people (if we do say so ourselves) and maybe even learn something.
Presenters have five minutes and 20 slides that automatically advance every 15 seconds. At Ignite! Tampa community members involved in technology, arts, communications, education, non-profit, the government sector and more will take the stage to answer this challenge.
The first five of twenty speakers for this year’s Ignite! Tampa event have been selected:
Carl Vervish: The Millennial Problem
Sandra Scott: Infertility: Birds and Bees and BFP!
Ramesh Sambasivan: How Coworking in A library is like a Silent Disco
Kyle Matthews: How we’re Beating childhood Cancer with Computers
Brian Willis: Back to the Future – Tampa’s Streetcar Neighborhoods Can Save Us
“Ignite is about creating an atmosphere that allows everyone the opportunity to be a rock star for five minutes on stage and share their passion. We are honored to have such outstanding presenters selected in our first round for our sixth Ignite! This is a testament to the quality and variety of talent in the Tampa Bay community, ” says Joy Randels, one of the organizers for the event. “It’s also a fun and inexpensive evening out with a community impact.
The sixth annual event will be held June 30th at the Historic Cuban Club Theatre in Ybor City. Join the Tampa Bay Community fun and enlightening evening complete with drinks including local craft beer and snacks. The presentations are meant to “ignite” the audience on a subject, that is, to stimulate thought and action on the topics presented. The first Ignite! took place in Seattle in 2006, and since then the event has become an international phenomenon.
