The Gulfport Art & Gallery Walk event, produced by the Gulfport Merchants Association, takes place from 6-10 p.m. every third Saturday – rain or shine, all year round, and is home to dozens of artisans and craftsmen each month. This month’s selections may include but are not limited to: sculpture, handmade/designed clothing and accessories, painted glass, wood crafts, aromatherapy, jewelry, upcycled items, body products, pet products, on-site embroidery, acupuncture, authors, and other artsy crafts.
For your musical entertainment, live musicians appear at several venues throughout the waterfront district including Double M Band at Neptune Grille, Urban Gypsies at Mangia Gourmet, Pete and Dean at O’Maddy’s Bar & Grille and Mike Ferris at Gulfport Beach Bazaar

This week’s Meet the Maker at Mermaid Bay Mercantile is locally made Patty’s Peppers – Hungarian Hot and Sweet Peppers. From an Old World Italian recipe, Patty’s Peppers are hand-picked and hand packed by a local St. Petersburg family. Light refreshments will be offered as well as tastings of the two Patty’s Peppers styles.
Artisan & Craft Beer selections & Happy and Yappy Hours; Neptune Grill has Happy Hour daily from 3-6pm with $3 wells and house wines and $2.25 Bud Light Drafts. Little Tommie’s Tiki offers Happy Hour from 3-6 PM with drink and appetizer specials, local brews by 3 Daughters St. Pete and Cigar City Tampa and house made red and white sangria. O’Maddy’s Bar & Grille features Cigar City Maduro and Tampa Bay Brewery Reef Donkey local brews on tap. Siri’s Gourmet Burgers & Pizza suggests Kona Brewing’s Longboard Lager from Kona Hawaii, which pairs nicely with their signature Margarita Pizza. Or for a heartier fare try the Florida Avenue IPA brewed in Tampa, bold enough to stand up to their fresh ground burgers served on homemade buns.
Gulfport’s Historical Waterfront Arts District spans 6 city blocks that includes more than 35 unique and locally owned shops, businesses, boutiques, galleries, bars, and restaurants. Over the last few years, several new art venues have popped up around town including Country Harvest Craft Studio, Suzanne Vernon Mosaics, August Vernon Studios, Portspace Art Gallery, ProjectFree Gallery & Studio, Mermaid Bay Mercantile Co. and Pitzen Studios. Gulfport is also known as one of the foremost dining destinations in the Tampa Bay area, featuring over a dozen delicious restaurants, and all are within walking distance.
