The mission of the Community Roots Collective is to provide a place for families to grow through education, resources, and love. The Collective offers classes, workshops, kids’ events, moms groups, and a wealth of support for families. The Collective is comprised of Barefoot Birth- home birth midwifery care, Barefoot Herbals- herbal apothecary, Sweet Plum Photography- birth, maternity, and family photography, Rachel Diaz- licensed massage therapist, Magical Moments Breastfeeding- IBCLC lactation support, Milk and Cookies- CLC lactation support, Innate Chiropractic & Wellness- chiropractic care, and Live the Rhythm- a creative content and performance company.
The first birthday celebration will be held Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 12-3 at the center’s location. The Roots will have lots of family friendly fun activities including a bounce house, food trucks, balloon animals, games, goodies, and of course, access to all the shops and businesses. There will be a raffle and group photo taken at 2pm. Also, the center will be collecting feminine hygiene products for the local nonprofit F.L.O.W. The birthday celebration is open and free to the public.
The Community Roots Collective hopes to expand its class offerings in the coming year and further help the community by attaining nonprofit status and qualifying for public funding of events.
