Involvement by bank’s Chief Financial Officer strengthens ties with nonprofit
TAMPA, Fla. (April 29, 2016) – The Helen Gordon Davis Centre for Women has selected Amanda Stevens, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of USAmeriBank, to join its Board of Directors. Stevens’ appointment to the Centre for Women’s board builds upon a relationship that developed last year after several USAmeriBank team members volunteered as counselors for one of the Centre for Women’s programs, the Women’s Business Centre.
USAmeriBank focuses its bank-wide community support in several key areas, including entrepreneurship, women in leadership and financial literacy. The Centre for Women, particularly its Women’s Business Centre, which helps women start and grow small businesses, aligns well with these focus areas.
“Tampa Bay is one of the nation’s fastest-growing areas for women-based businesses, and the Centre for Women plays a critical role in providing resources and support to these courageous women,” Stevens said. “I look forward to furthering the organization’s mission to encourage, empower and elevate women to become entrepreneurs.”
As a member of the Board, Stevens acts as an ambassador for the Centre for Women and Centre for Girls in the community. She is also part of a committee that plans the Centre’s events and fundraisers, including the upcoming 25th annual Gourmet Festival.
Stevens joined USAmeriBank in 2008, bringing more than a decade of experience working with community banks as a consultant on various accounting and regulatory issues. Since joining the organization, she has played a key role in USAmeriBank’s growth to more than $3.6 billion in assets, while posting best-in-class performance for a wide range of metrics.
In addition to her board involvement with the Centre for Women, Stevens is the treasurer of the Franklin Middle School PTSA and serves as a volunteer for Junior Achievement and Grace Family Church in Lutz.
