Efforts in Support of the Measure Up, Pressure Down® National Day of Action
Lakeland, FL — Watson Clinic is proud to participate in the Measure Up/Pressure Down® National Day of Action, an annual event designed to educate the public on matters related to high blood pressure awareness, detection and control.
Throughout the week of May 2, Watson Clinic will offer free educational materials at a display table located in the front west entrance of our Main Clinic at 1600 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in Lakeland. Free giveaways – including specially designed magnets, pens, pill boxes and pins to wear – will also be made available at the table. These efforts will culminate on Thursday, May 5, a date that has been designated as the National Day of Action, during which our on-site cafeteria will offer a heart-healthy menu to patients and visitors.
High blood pressure (hypertension) is one of the nation’s most significant health concerns, afflicting an estimated one in three Americans. This silent killer is a major contributor to heart disease, stroke, heart attack, kidney disease and other severe health issues. Patients are encouraged to know their blood pressure readings both through regular self-checks and annual evaluations with their physician. If the condition is detected, it can be properly managed through a sensible diet, quitting smoking, weight loss and exercise. Your doctor may prescribe medications to assist in the process as well.
Patients will have access to a wealth of informative insights related to high blood pressure at our Main Clinic location throughout the week, including a series of posters displayed throughout the facility and various reading materials at the front entrance display table.
