Clearwater, Florida April 21, 2016 -Belle of the Ball Project, the leading Tampa Bay Area prom and homecoming dress provider to needy girls, partnered with the Mt Alvernia High School Alumni Central Florida to provide 150 dresses to Mt Alvernia High School Montego Bay, Jamaica in April 2016.
“We were very happy to provide these dresses, and hope to continue this partnership as our resources allow. We are delighted to serve needy high school girls, wherever they are located! We are so blessed with an abundance of dresses as provided by our donors and partners.” said Susan Schwartz, Belle of the Ball CEO and Founder. “We already provide dresses to other similar organizations in the Tampa Bay area, so we are pleased to now be “international”, so to speak!” she continued.
Dawn Jones, president of the Mt Alvernia High School Alumni- Central Florida, which conducted the drive, commented on their continuing effort to serve the girls at this impoverished Jamaican school: “Our team learns a lot each year as we host and interact with the girls. This year, one comment really hit the spot. Quite a few girls came in search of “one dress” – (white long or short). We wondered, why? This is one girl’s response: “Miss, if I am only allowed to have one dress, I must find me a white one that I can wear under my graduating white gown, as is required by the school, so I can wear that one dress on both occasions. My Mother, already told me, a special white dress is not a possibility because of no funds.“ We are very proud of the many years of service given to the young girls in our community. We are so appreciative of Belle of the Ball`s donation of the beautiful dresses.” concluded Mrs. Jones
